This unique modern gem is a multigenerational home which has achieved all its goals on a compact urban site. Taking cues from the modern architecture we selected materials that were elemental and timeless. We worked with all the family members on every aspect to make sure it met their diverse goals!

The generous front garden is place-marked by the statuesque namesake Walnut Street tree along with a mass of ferns, fescue grasses and the client's art pieces obtained over the years. The heart of the home contains mirrored courtyard spaces for outdoor dining and cooking, where we created privacy with lush bamboo and corrugated aluminum planters to match the home facade. The rear garden has a carefree feel with fallen logs offering seating around a locally spun steel fire bowl. Chickens also occupy the back garden along with intimate bistro seating separate from the main common space.
